Tassels, Shells, and Beads! Oh My!

At Paris Fashion Week, Balmain presented their boho spring/summer 2026 menswear collection called “Continuum”, giving the perfect endless summer vibes. The combination of tassels, shells, fringe, and macrame really helped to showcase what Rousteing was going for, which was freedom and nature. Rousteing said, “To me, real luxury today is freedom and enjoyment.” These looks perfectly match this statement as they are more of a quiet luxury with the tactical and flowy look.

These looks are veering away from Balmain’s usual aesthetic, as they have not really dabbled into the beachy style of menswear. Balmain combined two different styles, and they seamlessly blended into one another. They took inspiration from certain military styles, which is very straight cut and doesn’t have much movement. They combined this with some very flowy pieces, contrasting one another beautifully.

Balmain made it clear that tassels have the chance to make a comeback in our everyday looks. In the outfits, they gave the models belts that looked like ropes and had tassels, which definitely adds texture to contrast the silk and leather fabrics. Balmain also incorporated a lot of shells, making the looks much more attractive to people who may be planning on vacationing to the coast this summer. Even with the rope sandals, Balmain proves that you don’t need the fanciest pieces to contribute to luxury.

Balmain’s use of layered jewelry really elevates the show as a whole. We don’t always see a lot of jewelry in menswear looks like this, so it feels very fresh and fun. The gold accents bring elegance to the table, in a show full of more rugged and loose looks.

    Vogue 2025

We can infer that some of the looks may pay homage to the styles of different cultures around the world with the use of the tassels and shells. This makes the show feel special, like Balmain is acknowledging they can break away from the usual style of luxury and designer brands.

When booking your flights or cruises for this spring and summer, make sure to keep Balmain in mind. These timeless looks are perfect for tactility and style, making them the perfect outfits when visiting the beach or strutting down the boardwalk.

Telfar and Timberland: Two Iconic Brands Release Their New Collaboration

    Charlotte Bayne- October 9, 2025

The brands Timberland and Telfar announced on October 3, that they are collaborating to release reimagined takes on both brands’ boots and handbags, available on both of their websites and in select stores. With the leaves starting to fall, and the weather starting to shift, this is the perfect time for the brands to drop the iconic boots and handbags that match the NYC October vibes.

The collection contains a small shopper bag ($225), a medium shopper bag ($350), a large shopper bag ($600), and a slouchy bag ($700). In terms of footwear, they are releasing a pair of slip-on loafers ($225), a pair of mid pull-on boots ($350), and a pair of high pull-on boots ($600). All the bags and boots come in two colorways: black and butter wheat, made of soft nubuck leather.

The black and wheat boots pay homage to timberlands classic boot design at the base, but moving upwards, you can see how Telfar created a reworked, unique spin on the boots. They take inspiration from Hip-Hop and R&B culture to form the perfect throwback boot that offers day-to-day versatility. They can be slouched, scrunched, draped, or even folded. For a street wear look, pair the boots with baggy jeans and your favorites team’s jersey, and for a more sophisticated look, pair them with a skirt and a blazer. The loafers are something that timberland has never done before, but they are perfect for year-round wear with their open tops and rugged rubber outsoles.

The collection also includes Telfar’s iconic bag designs, with a touch of Timberland incorporated into the mix. The bags are the classic timberland wheat color, with a large Telfar logo in the front center, and a Timberland tag. The bags all have a slouchy silhouette, a drawstring for the opening, two pockets, an adjustable strap, and can be worn as a crossbody or a shoulder sling. Not only do the bags have style and are perfect to wear with your everyday looks, but they are conventional and have a lot of space and durability.

These brands are evidently prepared to take over the fashion world this fall with the iconic combo of bags and boots. As the weather gets chilly, we may see a lot of this collection as staple pieces in many fashionistas’ wardrobes. The bags and black boots can be found on Telfar’s online store, and the wheat boots and loafers can be found on the Timberland site.
